Facial aesthetic treatments at Kiln Lane

Everybody gets old and, unfortunately, facial wrinkles and fine lines are a natural part of the ageing process. As we age, our body starts to produce less and less collagen, our skin loses the elasticity it once had, and deeper lines and creases inevitably start to appear. However, thanks to a range of treatments – known as facial aesthetics – it is now possible to fight these signs of ageing while maintaining your natural beauty and a youthful look.

What are facial aesthetic treatments?

Facial aesthetics is a term used to describe a range of non-surgical treatments, including anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers. Such treatments are designed to soften expression lines and define certain facial features and, as such, they effectively improve the overall appearance of your skin, masking the natural ageing process.

Non-surgical facial aesthetics at Kiln Lane Dental

As part of our facial aesthetics clinic, here at Kiln Lane Dental, we currently offer two non-surgical cosmetic treatments:

BOTOX injections

Botox treatments are typically administered on the upper face, on the forehead and around the eyes for natural results. They relax the facial muscles and help to reduce the severity of frown lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet while keeping the skin hydrated for a youthful appearance. It even stops excessive sweating!

Lip fillers

Lip enhancements are an effective treatment which also helps to reduce lines and wrinkles but in a slightly different way. Hyaluronic acid is injected under the skin, to create a smooth appearance with more definition and combat any lost volume. They’re typically used around the mouth and lips but can be used for the upper face too.

Trusted non-surgical cosmetic treatments

Both of these anti-wrinkle treatments are non-surgical. This means they’re minimally invasive – with zero downtime – and the potential side effects are very mild (lasting only for a very short time).

However, before you undergo any type of facial aesthetic treatment, it is important to book an initial consultation and discuss it carefully with the dentist first to create your tailored treatment plan. The effects of facial rejuvenation may only be temporary, but everybody’s skin is different, and you need to be sure you are choosing the right facial treatment or skin solution for you and your facial anatomy to avoid allergic reactions.

All of our facial aesthetic procedures – including BOTOX and lip fillers – are performed by our principal dentist, Hanna Miraftab, on selected ‘clinic’ days throughout the year. And despite their impressive results, they’re available for a competitive price – starting from just £100 for wrinkle-relaxing injections and £250 for 1ml of dermal filler.

Are facial aesthetic treatments safe?

Anti-wrinkle injections have been used for many years, but much like any other injectable treatment, dermal fillers and BOTOX come with some risks.

These include:
- Swelling
- Bruising
-Tenderness around the injection site
- Infection

However, when you choose to have facial rejuvenation treatment at Kiln Lane Dental, you can trust that you’re in the safe hands of our trained medical practitioner who is dedicated to helping you look your best.

To ensure your safety, we’ll provide a consultation. This will allow us to find out about your background and medical history, as well as any allergic reactions and treatments you’ve had in the past, before discussing the treatment options available.

Once we’ve put a bespoke treatment plan together, we will set a date for carrying out the treatment and outline any potential risks you need to be aware of, so you know exactly what to expect on the day. We’ll talk you through the healing process and give you detailed aftercare instructions, too.

Do facial aesthetic treatments hurt?

BOTOX and dermal fillers are a minimally invasive and virtually pain-free option to restore volume and correct uneven skin tones.

Hyaluronic acid is administered using a very thin needle.

Most patients describe the sensation as a quick pinch or prick to the skin, but anyone uncomfortable with needles may experience mild discomfort.

If you don’t have a high pain threshold or are worried about facial aesthetics, let us know and we can apply a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) to the injection site.

How can I take care of my Botox treatment?

Keeping the skin hydrated is vital in taking care of your Botox post-treatment. For long-lasting results, you should ensure you're drinking plenty of water and wearing SPF daily. Other tips include:

  • Avoid touching or massaging the treated area: Refrain from rubbing the injection site to prevent the Botox from migrating to other areas.

  • Stay upright for at least 4 hours post-treatment: Avoid lying down or bending over excessively to ensure the Botox settles correctly.

  • Limit physical activity for 24 hours: Avoid strenuous exercise that may increase blood flow and reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.

  • Skip alcohol and blood-thinning medications: Avoid alcohol and medications like aspirin or ibuprofen for 24 hours to reduce bruising.

  • Avoid applying heat or pressure: Skip facials, saunas, or hot showers for 24-48 hours to allow the treatment to take effect.

  • Follow your practitioner’s aftercare advice: Adhere to any specific instructions provided by your practitioner for optimal results.

  • Be patient: Results typically appear within 3-7 days, so allow time for the full effects to develop.

At Kiln Lane Dental, we provide a detailed consultation to discuss your needs and provide you with all the information you’ll need for your treatment.

How do I know what treatment is right for me?

With plenty of popular treatments out there, it can be difficult to know what's best for you!

At Kiln Lane Dental, we offer facial aesthetics consultations and work closely with our patients to determine what would be best for their individual needs and desired look.

How often should I top up my facial aesthetics?

How long the results of your procedure last varies from person-to-person, and can be affected by factors such as the desired look and lifestyle.

Typically, we recommend Botox treatments to be topped up every 3 to 4 months. Lip filler tends to last 6 to 12 months. For a definite and personalised answer, get in touch with one of our experts.
