How does enlighten whitening work?
Enlighten teeth whitening uses a combination of home and practice-based treatments. Essentially, it works by increasing the tooth’s permeability to oxygen – which breaks down any stain molecules on the surface of the tooth. And to achieve a sparkly whiter smile, three steps are required:
Step 1: An initial consultation
First things first, you’ll need to pop into the dental practice for a consultation. This gives us an opportunity to discuss your ‘dream’ smile and determine your suitability for the procedure. If we think it’s the right teeth whitening option for you, we’ll then take impressions of your teeth.
Step 2: Whitening gel trays
Your impressions are subsequently sent to a lab to create bespoke whitening gel trays.
Designed to be a perfect fit, these trays are incredibly thin and comfortable. They must be worn for 14 consecutive nights using the Enlighten teeth whitening gel provided. And during this time, an active ingredient will pass through the enamel and begin to break down any stains.
Step 3: Final treatment
On the 15th day, you will then need to return to the practice for the second stage of the treatment.
This is a deep ‘power whitening’ session that uses a much stronger tooth whitening gel. As such, it has to be administered by a dental professional. The session itself lasts approximately 40 minutes and it’s designed to boost the shade of your teeth and ensure they’re natural-looking and even.
Why should I choose Enlighten whitening?
The key benefit is that it delivers predictable results. In fact, Enlighten is the only procedure currently available that guarantees a Vita shade B1 for every patient – regardless of their starting shade, age, lifestyle or dietary habits.
