What tooth whitening treatments are available at Kiln Lane Dental?

Performed by our talented dental team, we currently offer a range of professional teeth whitening treatments in St Helens – with an option to suit all preferences and requirements. These include:

Home whitening

Your dentist will provide you with a whitening gel that must be applied to your custom mouthpieces. These are made bespoke using impressions of your teeth, so they are guaranteed to fit perfectly. You will need to wear the mouthpieces for several hours a day, and depending on your preferred shade, results can start to appear within the first week or two.

The full home whitening treatment costs £265, whilst replacement whitening trays are priced at just £60 each.

Zoom whitening

Also administered in practice by our dental team, a protective substance will first be applied to the gums. A specialised light is then used to apply hydrogen peroxide gel to the tooth’s surface, which speeds up the whitening process.

This procedure is usually spread across one to three appointments, depending on the condition of your natural teeth and your whiteness preference. You will also be given home trays which allow you to carry on with the whitening treatment at home.

For the full zoom whitening treatment, including the home trays, we currently charge £450.

Enlighten whitening

Enlighten is the only whitening treatment available that guarantees results up to 16 shades lighter.

With some very simple home maintenance (i.e. wearing trays once a month and using the whitening gel regularly), results can last indefinitely. This treatment is currently available for £599.

Who can benefit from teeth whitening?

Almost everyone can benefit from our teeth whitening. Whether your teeth have yellowed with age, you have visible stains due to that morning coffee habit, or your enamel has ‘greyed’ due to long-term antibiotic use, in most cases, tooth discolouration can be reversed.

Of course, there are some cases in which whitening may not be appropriate – such as if you have gum disease or tooth decay. It's also unable to change the colour of fillings, crowns and veneers. So if you have these, another cosmetic treatment may be more suitable.
